Inspired by the nature (birds, flowers) that surrounds the city of Hangzhou and the essence of Hangzhou Airport’s architecture, this project successfully achieves the aim to merge this combo in a stunning and innovative interior and exterior metro design. On the one hand, the exterior design is the output of a smart combination of clean, soft and rounded shapes, which result in a remarkable front design that reminds us of a flying bird’s wings and the West Lake´s scenic viewpoint (iconic place in Hangzhou). On the other hand, bringing the aforementioned Hangzhou Airport’s essence through clean and rounded shapes that flow creating dynamism inside the wagon has been the key for the design of the metro interior. All these features ensure a unique metro design with a huge personality that sticks in your memory.
