Vitoria-Gasteiz has been one of the first cities in Spain in incorporating the BEI into the public transport network of TUVISA. It is a new form of mobility with electric vehicles, a high-capacity convoy, an access platform at stops, exclusive lanes and traffic light preference. Thus, the BEI is ultimately a non-polluting means of transport that allows journeys to be made in less time. DIARADESIGN’s contribution within the consortium has been to design the new mobility experience from the passengers perspective, focusing on the bus shelters design. Keys such as what is the first thing that passengers do when they enter, what kind of information are they looking for, where are they located, what should be transmitted to them… have been key to designing the family of these modern shelters.
