ICP (Industrialization of Core Printing) is the world’s first fully automated 3D printed core production solution, developed by Loramendi in collaboration with voxeljet and BMW Group Plant Landshut.
DIARADESIGN took part in the project by designing the family of ICP machines and the user experience surrounding them. The result is a technological, ergonomic and visually coherent system that reflects the cutting-edge innovation behind this Industry 4.0 milestone, redefining manufacturing through automation and additive technology.

Bold and modern.
We designed a compact, homogeneous and high-tech visual identity for the family of ICP machines. Inspired by the world of 3D printing and advanced manufacturing, the machines feature sleek geometries, a “petroleum black” finish, and a refined balance between functionality and elegance. This industrial yet modern appearance not only enhances the workspace but also reflects the precision and technological innovation of the ICP process. Ergonomics, user accessibility and intuitive interaction were key pillars of the design, ensuring that these complex industrial systems remain efficient, user-friendly and safe for operators in demanding production environments.

In highly industrial environments, advanced equipment often remains hidden behind technical complexity. To highlight the innovation and value of the ICP line, DIARADESIGN created a visitor experience that brings the story of the technology to life. Through a guided storytelling approach, the plant’s journey was redesigned to align messages, reveal surprises and adapt to different visitor profiles, from engineers to executives. This experience was translated into a manual, helping guides communicate the ICP’s impact and technological breakthroughs in an engaging and understandable way.
