How should the new generation AMTRAK trains look like? How could the AMTRAK travelling experience be improved, become more reliable, sustainable and equitable attracting more users? How could design help to achieve so?
In collaboration with Siemens Mobility, we designed several train interior concepts that capture our design vision for the new generation AMTRAK trains.
For that, we focused on designing differentiated areas that offer new on-boarding experiences that answer different rail users’ needs (commuters, families, young passengers…) and integrate technology smartly.
This required of in-depth research on AMTRAK brand and the current American context, paying special attention to its culture and lifestyle, as well as analysing the trends that are transforming mobility.
How should the new generation AMTRAK trains look like? How could the AMTRAK travelling experience be improved, become more reliable, sustainable and equitable attracting more users? How could design help to achieve so?

Standard Class car interior design
Crafting a functional and seamless passengers’ experience that inspires.
The interior design of the standard class car answers future passenger and user needs and desires focusing on the details.
The combination of each one of them (colour, material, form, function…) creates a unique atmosphere that evokes a journey through technology and future.

We conceived the Business class car interiors as adaptive spaces that provide comfortable seating and high-quality on-board solutions for working, enjoying and relaxing.
Big displays and integrated lighting are combined, amongst others, with elegant colours, high quality materials and wooden details bringing calm, cosiness and privacy to the design.

Meeting areas that allow taking advantage of the travel time providing spaces for coworking or even close deals with clients.
Convenient “working boxes” equipped with the latest technology that let to get the work done without been disturbed. This innovative concept expands collaborating and working possibilities for commuters or other user profiles.
